By David Glyn Jones, Headteacher Highfield Primary School. Bolton. As a senior leader in a UK primary school, I recently participated in an online market research event hosted by BlueCow Education. The experience was engaging and really broadened my understanding of some of the latest educational innovations.
The event featured four concise presentations from established education sector providers. Each presenter had approximately 13 minutes to showcase their product, ensuring the sessions were engaging and to the point. This format allowed me to grasp the essence of each offering without feeling overwhelmed and I was introduced to innovative companies that I wouldn't have necessarily considered before, inspiring me to explore further and share these insights with my staff. One of the standout aspects of the event was the interactive nature of the presentations. Being part of a small group of participants facilitated meaningful discussions and allowed for direct communication with the presenters. This setup not only made the evening extremely informative but also provided a relaxed setting to offer constructive feedback to the companies. The event was well-organised and ran smoothly; in fact, it felt like an intense, high-quality CPD experience, and I left the session with fresh ideas to discuss with other senior leaders in my school and cluster. As a token of appreciation for attending and completing a short online feedback form during the event, each school leader received a £40 Amazon voucher, emailed on the night, to acknowledge the time given. This added a tangible benefit to the experience. Participating in BlueCow Education's online market research event is a quality experience that provides an opportunity to learn about new products, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute to the development of educational tools. I highly recommend fellow senior leaders to take part in these events, as they offer a unique blend of professional development and insight into the latest innovations in education.
